iMovie
IMovie is a program that helps create and edit videos. The iMovie app has a variety of functions that can help students create videos during their learning. In the HPE classroom, the app could be used to analyse recorded footage of students performing a skill, as well as other footage provided on the internet. Some of the functions that HPE students may utilise on the app is pausing and slowing down videos, adding voice over, circling and highlighting different movements throughout the video as well as a variety of other functions. With iMovie, students can produce a polished and well edited video for assignments.
IMovie is free and therefore affordable for all schools. One of the problems with iMovie is that it can only be used on Apple products e.g. IPad, IPhone, Mac computers which means that students will need to have access to these products. Learning how to use iMovie efficiently can also be a time intensive process, especially if students have not been exposed to the technology or similar technology previously.
I have used iMovie within the SEPEP Unit to edit and put together different videos of me performing touch rugby skills to post on my lesson page.
