Kahoot
Kahoot is a free-game based learning platform. The website makes it easy for teachers to create an interactive quiz, jumble, discussion or survey and provide engaging learning for the students. The content is easy to access for students, all they need is any device and visit kahoot.it.com and in put the game PIN provided by the teacher. Once they have done this, the teacher can see who has logged into the quiz and start the quiz once everyone has joined. The website also provides the teacher with the answers of each student by the end of the quiz.
Kahoot could be used with a HPE setting if the teacher wanted to quickly quiz the students on the skills and terminology learnt throughout the day. I did not use Kahoot within my SEPEP Unit, but it could have been used as a tool of reflection at the end of entire unit or at the end of lessons 1-4.
Kahoot's affordability, ease of access and fun design make it a great addition to any classroom. Kahoot may not be a good tool for a formal assessment however as answers need to be given within a short time frame and points are awarded for the fastest answer. This would encourage students to answer questions quickly without thinking properly about the question.
